The world today is fast growing
advanced in information technology and creative thinking skills. We are proud
to be Malaysian who is united in a harmonious life. We will never feel timid to
show our love and loyalty to our judicious country leader and his philosophy to
this country. The irksome thing that we hate to see is when there are some
people who do not appreciate our former leader sacrifice in developing unity
among the societies and facilities provided by our country, Malaysia.
Based on the theme of national
inspirations, the Broadcasting club, Faculty of Communication and Media
Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, has organized the
‘Aspirasi Negaraku’ video clips competition. The competition was started in April
2012 and is open to all the UiTM students in Malaysia. Through the competition,
it can help the young generation especially from the university level show
their appreciation to the country and leaders who strive to maintain the peace.
The 1Malaysia concept, 2020 Vision and
solidarity is the important element that participant need to highlighted in
their video work. These are some of the criteria that must be met by the
participants in their video production. Furthermore in order to make the video
not become interminable, the duration of the video is shall not more than 5
minutes and not less than 2 minutes. It must be uploaded to YouTube pages, and
each clips title should be preceded by ‘Aspirasi Negaraku-your name’. The
participants also need to put their full name, student number and phone number
in the comment section for the verification purposes.
In every competition it will be ended
with the announcement of the winners and prize giving. The present is in the
form of money and it was held at the Dewan Agong Tuanku Chancellor (DATC) on
September 5, 2012. The winners’ announcement was witnessed of two thousand new
students that were held during the orientation week.
The first place winner is Miss
Nadhirah bte Zakaria and she walked away with RM2000 cash and certificate of
participation. She is a Broadcasting student and her video clip concept is
based on animation. The reason she make it in animation clip is because she
want show the variation of the existing entries. In her perspective, the soul of the child is
very close to the world of animation and this will attract them as well as the
adults to watch the cute characters created and adopted the message conveyed in
that video. She took 2 weeks to complete the video clip and spread the idea to
be expressed.
The second place was won by
Interpersonal student, Muhammad Fared bin Zakaria. He has won a cash prize of
RM1500 and certificates of participation. He presented a music video that
contains song and displays the growth of unity and progress made by Malaysia. He
created a video describing the progress in various fields achieved by Malaysia,
was support by the multicultural societies and from the different educational
background.
The competition and the winners are
announced, are not published by mainstream media because the contest is
closed-form and are only open for the UiTM students. This competition also
announced through pamphlet distributed and posted on the faculty and student
focus place such as ‘Dataran Cendekia’ and bus-stop. Apart from that it also
spread via blog and social media such as facebook with the keyword ‘Aspirasi
Negaraku UiTM’.
The organizer intensiveness in the
success of this competition should be commended. This pinpoint that the
university effort to foster a sense of love to the country is not the piffle
and it’s will not finite.
